Star limped into the room and stood, holding the bad leg off the ground.

Lauren reached over and pulled the bandana on Star's leg tighter. Star pinned her ears back but knew it might save her life. Finally they arrived at the horse hospital.

"I will," Lauren said. She went into the trailer with Star. "Let's go before it's too late!"

Lauren nodded. "Let's go! Quick!"

Lauren nodded. "It's not your fault!!! If anything it's Darkness's fault, lol." Lauren laughed a little. She petted Star and waited for them to take off.

"I'll take him back to the stables," Lauren said.

Star limped in the trailer, Lauren hooking the rope to her halter. Winter watched the scene.

Lauren explained to him that Star had run away from the stables and was bit by a rattlesnake. "I cut off most of the blood circulation in the leg," she said.

"He persuaded me to come out here! I never wanted to. What if something fatal happened to all of us?"

Lauren looked down the road. She could see headlights.

"This is all your fault," Star told him. Lauren took of her bandana and wrapped it above the bite. She knotted it tight.

"It might be okay," Lauren said. "I hope the vet gets here soon..." Star stared at Darkness. "Okay."

Lauren jumped down and looked at the bite. "Rattler! We have to get her a vet! Quickly!" Star frowned at Darkness.

Lauren saw Star and cantered over to her. "STAR! DARKNESS!" she yelled and stopped beside Star. Star held her foot up, telling Lauren there was something wrong with it.

Lauren and Fire trotted down the driveway and onto the road. Star thought she heard someone coming and whinnied.

Lauren kicked Fire's side and they were off. Star limped back to the road. "I wish I was at the stables!"

Star whinnied shrilly, AGAIN. Winter looked at her in fright.

Star reared and whinnied. A rattlesnake reached up and bit her leg. Star whinnied again and shook it off of her. Lauren got on Fire with a halter and lead line and joined the others.

Star stopped after jumping over a log. She stared at the ground.
