The hatchery just emailed me back and they believe it to be a Golden 300 Hybrid. I would be ok with that. 300+ eggs a year would be fine.

    SWEDISH Duck Thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm beginning to have my doubts about it being a Swedish at all. Today there are some belly feathers coming in and they have horizontal black and brown stripe patterns. I'm terribly confused with this bird.

    SWEDISH Duck Thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My 1 year old Rouen started hiding hers under the bedding in her personal nesting box and under the sand in the coop. I'm not sure if she was trying to build up a little stockpile or what but i have to hunt then dig them out now.

I think you're right with the Splash. I've gone through the hatcheries site and the Swedish is the only duck that matches this one. I will update as we go.

    SWEDISH Duck Thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am fairly confident i have a blue Swedish duckling here. I purposely picked out one with more splotchy coloring similar to an Ancona or something and less like a Swedish. We were just looking for a pal for our Rouen hen and wanted something interesting so we picked up a Cayuga and this little...
