    Unfortunately, no. We would have to deconstruct it. It’s not build around a tree, it’s basically just a very high fort house.

    Any thoughts of whether or not they would be able to enter/exit if we cut an opening in the floor vs. an opening on the side?

    Lowering it is not an option, unfortunately. We don’t have the money or resources to do so. We have thought about deconstructing the whole thing and rebuilding it lower but it’s a lot of work/time as we both work full time, ha.

    They have a big run and we do let them in the yard, just not when the dogs are out. We need to build a more permanent, sturdy fence but we have a temporary fence setup. We have 7 chickens.

    We just bought a house with a treehouse and we are thinking of converting it into a chicken coop. It’s sturdy, shady, overall in good shape. We wanted to just build out the bottom as a coop but wood is outrageously expensive. Has anyone else had luck doing this? We of course have some work to do...
