    Wood chips + chicken poop= grass (or anything) grows even in Florida. Wood chips from a pine tree are excellent.

    Your girls are gonna think they died n went to heaven! Now, back to your original query......... GRASS! A layer of wood chips, not shavings will help keep it dry. Poop will wash down through them keeping it clean and will fertilize the soil underneath pulling up worms for them to scratch up...

    Your run is good to for 6 chooks if it is 5ftx 13 ft! That's 65 square ft. Now just increase your coop to 24 square ft and you're golden. Until chicken math hits.:eek::th:lau:gig

    It's not rough if you're serious about having healthy happy chooks. I never took any knowledgeable advice as being mean or rough. I've always been happy to get good advice although, DANG, it sure meant more work for me!
