Okay I called them and they said they didn't do a stain on it so they don't know. They said it could be either one with the type of bacteria it was. Hyper something.
But they would have to have done a culture to know for sure. Which they didn't.
And he's on Clavamox and Metacam.
No they didn't. They never actually said it was an infection. Just that there was bacteria.
Though I would assume if his mouth and throat are inflamed that there was an infection there. Just not respiratory.
The roof of his mouth and throat were inflamed and he had the foam in the back of his throat. No nasal or eye discharge. Just from the mouth.
And no they didn't say exactly which one. But it's been brewing for awhile. I noticed he was off for weeks but now it just got bad. They think he got it...
Took him to the vet and it's not respiratory! His lungs and glottis were clear!
But he does have a bacterial infection and has been put on antibiotics. It's expensive but my handsome stud will live!
I have a standard Cochin rooster who is sneezing violently and has foam coming out of his mouth!
What can I do other than take him to the vet tomorrow? I'm supposed to be leaving town in a few days and this is obviously very worrying!
