Read this post, and I just wanted to post one comment re quinoa -- if it isn't well rinsed, it has saponins in the seed that are toxic in quantity. It depends on whether or not it is pre-rinsed quinoa, most brands are but a few are not. I don't know if it would be a problem for birds or not...
