    Not sure. When I was showing horses, I know of some owners that had black walnut toxicity affect their horses. I didn't see any indication that chickens suffered from it. Most chickens will not eat shavings. If they have no more aroma than pine shavings, I'd use them.

    It looks good. Do you know what species wood it came from? Softwoods are preferred over hardwoods.
