Gertrude is much better today! Other then the lack of feathers she has healed. I have put her back into the coop.

Over breeding caused injury on hen

Two drakes are gone. 1 left to go. I think my ratio is better now... I have 5 callduck hens and 2 drakes, 1 pekin hen, 1 rouen hen, 1 pekin drake, 2 callduck x hens and 1 callduck x drake. So... 9 hens and 5 drakes. Does that work?

Over breeding caused injury on hen

As soon as I found the problem I took the hen out. She is currently in the bathtub. I was trying not to have to butcher drakes because they all have a home with a pond in the spring, but I guess I have no choice to do that. :( I'm a bit upset, I came on here for help because I am new to this...

Over breeding caused injury on hen

Poor Gertie's eyes were stuck completely shut when I discovered this today. These pictures were taken after a warm bath in the bath tub where she will be living for the next few days so she can heal up a bit. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to treat her? Should I get some eye drops for her?
