Feather sexing by the saddle and hackle feathers is always more accurate than by using combs. There is a breed that you can't feather sex though, but it is a more rare breed than typical chickens.
If skinny and pointed, it's a boy.
Fat and rounded, you have a girl.
But with Silkies...
If their saddle (lower back) and hackle/cape feathers are slender and pointy, then you have a boy. But if the saddle and hackle feathers are rounded is a girl. Buff Orp males also have more vivid coloring, whereas the girls
are usually lighter colored...
