MsKathyNY, I feel more comfortable that my chickens will be limited free range only because we have lots of predators around. Having two big dogs in the yard is a plus as well. I've heard even little Chihuahuas will scare off most predators. Do you have a dog?

Thank you! So much good advice. Just let the dogs in the same fence as the chickens and they did amazing. Much better than I thought they'd do actually.
The Pyrenees playfully chased a couple but I scolded him and I think he learned that chasing them is BAD. Haha. I've been letting them out...
That's awesome! But also forgot to mention that they will be in a coop at night...it's a big shed we're converting into a coop.
Also i say limited free range because it's really just a big sectioned off part of our backyard. They'll be in closed with a 4 foot high chain link fence.
