    Flynn is only 4.5 months old. Look at how good he already is! In the last photo here... he was only trying to sniff them... but this was at the point I said his name. He immediately heeled.

    Yeah, our River learned everything she knows about how to be a great dog from our Ajax. He was a great teacher... He was also 10 years old, so he didn't have it in him to be anything but good... Still, it's nice to see Ajax's legacy being passed on to our new pup via his star pupal, River...

    Our new guy, Flynn, the Australian Cattle Dog (mix?) pup, is going on 5 months old now... he has followed me out every morning while I do my morning chicken chores... So he see's them every day. When I step into the run to set out their water, or to fill their feed can, etc... he usually sits...

    Hey guys... Thought you'd like to see our new little bundle... Meet, Flynn. He's an Australian Cattle Dog (mix?) we adopted from one of our local shelters... he's 12 weeks old and 11 pounds at the moment. The chickens are not a big bad secret to him... and neither are our two cats...

    Oh... We just lost our Ajax... He was 11 and slowing down a lot over the last 6 months, so it wasn't totally unexpected... but one day last week around 5pm, he just... he just suddenly wasn't able to stand up or walk... by the time we got him to our vet first thing the next day, he struggled...

    We have two dogs. Both "Herding" breeds. When we got our chickens, our Australian Shepherd was 1, and our Shetland Sheepdog was 10. Neither of the two had EVER been around chickens. And when we got our Aussie, we had to train her not to chase the 100 and 150 year old cats. My advice...
