I'm super excited to try ours out. The suspense of waiting for the chicks and ducklings to arrive is getting to me and i still have 7 weeks left to wait. I got one out last night to show my DH and he thought they were a great idea. I'm just hoping that the ducklings all fit under it ok...
Thanks! the pics are great. I went ahead and ordered 2 of the EcoGlow 20's. With them being in the house they'll need less supplemental heat than if i was keeping them someplace colder. I found the measurements of the stock tanks i was planning to use and the larger model was just going to...
So i'm getting ready to order my brooders but am wondering if the smaller one will really work for 17 chicks for the number of weeks they need supplemental heat? I think the smaller one will be fine for our 10 ducklings. But i'm just really unsure about fitting 17 chicks under the same size...
Thanks so much for the pics! So cute they are under there. Definately going to get them for this years chicks. How many did you have using it? I was going to get the size for 20 chicks as we'll be getting 6-10 ducklings for one of them and 15-20 chicks for the other one.
Thanks! I'm not sure we'll be doing this yearly, but at some point we want to try meat chickens and let the kids hatch some eggs for a school project and i'm sure they will be handy again then though it might be a year or two.
I'm going to raise my chicks in a 2' x 4' stock tank this year with a baby gate over the top to keep the cats out and chicks in. So even if they get on top of it they still won't be able to get out. I'd think the brooder would be much safer and save on my electric bill. That heat lamp made us...
I'm thinking of getting 2 of these this year for our baby chicks and ducklings rather than messing with the heat lamps. We raise our babies in a main room of our house and the lights are too bright at night (long story) plus they make us nervous that a fire could start when we're away. Having...
