    you can cook deer just like you cook beef.... hubby does it all the time. Steak, roast, burgers.... the trick to deer is to cook it slow and add some fat to it as there is none - which is why with the burger we add bacon when we grind it up. Roast is cooked just like a beef roast would be...

    PC - you're doing great Like MissP said - dont throw away the neck - thats where alot of roasts come from. Soak soak soak - thats the key to deer... ya gotta soak it

    ohhhhhh.. you already cut it? then no - you need to finish processing it now to prevent bacteria from getting the meat. But.. in the future, if you like deer now that you have it - and you should get another one - hang it for a few days before you skin it (gut it though...) and wrap it/stuff...

    PC - let it hang for a few days if you can -it will taste better and get the rigor out... just make sure its cold enough soas not to decay... look online to learn the parts of a deer - you dont want to mess up and ruin the tenderloin ETA: Also - when you go to cook/eat it - many people...
