So... sorry I disappeared. My life got very busy and I forgot to keep checking. She walking so much better! We put a cast on her leg to make it grow out straight and we flattened her foot. We gave her some physical therapy and she's almost back to normal. Thanks for the help!
So. I looked at that article and the symptoms match. The only problem is when we tried, nothing moved. She isn't in any pain. We tried doing what the articles suggested and it wouldn't move. Is it is this and we cannot treat it, could she heal on her own? No vet's in our area deal with ducks. I...
In response to this earlier post, no vet's near us will treat the bird. Does anyone know how to splint a duck leg? If its already started healing, how do we set it? Please help!
So... we are going to take her to a vet. Things don't feel symmetrical. We don't want her to be in anymore pain. We will schedule an appointment and hope for the best!
Yes but we know there is nothing the vet can do. Whats hurt is the knee and the bone that goes up into the body. The vet could only diagnose the problem. Not help.
She had another soak today. She's moving around a bit but won't extend her leg. We don't feel anything wrong. Maybe just a sprain or a hyperextension. She landed on her feet. Still praying!
No she cannot bend it straight. She fell from about waist-high onto hardwood floors. I did but everything seems fine compared to the other. She only seems to hurt around the knee joint. When we lay her on her back, the leg flops to the side.
Hey all! We just ordered some ducks off of Metzers hatchery. We got two brown indian runners and a crested pekin. One of the runners took a fall and isn't putting any pressure on one of her legs. What should we do? Is there any medicine we should give her? Or should we put her in water? Thanks!
