Thank you all so much for the great information!!!
My Digital Camera was not cooperating last night so i couldnt get any pictures....
I am going to take all the eggs out tonight and collect the eggs daily unless i see one staying on her nest. I will follow your advice (Jean)... All sounds...
I would to know those answers too!
I am going home and marking all the eggs with todays date. Granted some have been there for a few days.. but I will just keep watch.
What can i use to write on the eggs?
I am at work right now.. I will go home and take one tonight and post it in the morning.
The ones that are laying I got from a friend of mine.. they said they were great layers... I was just hoping to get some babies....
Yup - I gotta a rooster.
So they can't go broody in the winter?
Do u think I should just collect the eggs?
I found this picture online - it isnt my chicken, but it looks just like them.
Do u know what breed this is? The website i found the picture on didnt say....
Not sure what they are. They are all brown / red. Nice size.. I need to figure out what breed they are. They arent huge.
I am still learning here, so excuse my dumb questions:
How do u know when they are broody? When do they go broody? Can i do anything to make them go broody?
My chickens are laying finally! Granted i think the eggs are coming from my newest chickens and not the ones I have been waiting to lay since what seems like forever, but anyways.
I wanted to know - I am hoping to get some baby chicks from these girls that are laying.. but it seems they aren't...
