    Twice a day for 7 days is too much. Maybe just apply to their legs ONCE in 7 days. You may poison them too by using too much powder, baths, and oils. Be careful.

    Agree. Also, I've found that the best preventative is the natural way chickens are programmed to dust bathe. Even just the sandy soil without adding anything works. My rooster that I have to treat does not dust bathe very often, and when he does he doesn't do a good job of it.

    Neem seed oil works better than anything I have ever used. Can be used directly on the bird, and on the roosts. I used to use permethrin, and it worked for about a year, then the mites became immune to it.
