#7 is HERE!!!!! I can't believe my 9 year olds homemade incubator hatched 7 out of 8 eggs!! I am one proud mom!

#6 just made her grand debut!!!! The other one still has the same size pip but its beak is sticking out so I can tell that it is breathing and chirping....any ideas? This egg is also MUCH smaller then my austrolop eggs and the beak looks very small. could it take smaller birds longer to hatch?

Ok ladies I have an egg that was pipped when i got up at 6am this morning. the hole has gotten a little bigger an I can see the beak but it is now 9:00pm...should I be concerned or could she just be slow? BTW we have one hatching as I type this! There is a little red on the white part should I...

so we have 5 hatched in a pretty small incubator and some are even panting should I go ahead and move them to the brooder?

Oh and we have 3 eggs left 2 have a nice pip but no pip on the 3rd and no sound or outside movement when I checked it...any suggestions on how long to wait and see if something went wrong?

My kids and I just watched this girl hatch! It was AMAZING!!!!! Then about 30 minutes later we watched another one hatch! Within 24 hours 5 have hatched! This is a picture of #1 with her hurt foot

I did what yall said and made a small hole in the white part before I went to bed and woke up to 2 chicks!!! Now we have 3 more with pips SO excited! Oh and the 2 toed chick seems to be walking around fine

Thanks for the heads up! Yes as soon as we got it out of the fan we got a finer mesh and recovered the van!!! now we know! Right now it is the only one but hopefully we will have another in the morning!!

Thanks for sending me this way! We are going through our first hatch right now using an incubator my son made from a cooler. Yesterday was the official hatch day and this morning we had a pip and good news we came home to a CHICK however...his foot was caught in the incubator fan we got its...

Still no chick it is taking its sweet time! One of the other eggs also cracked the shell but the white part is not broken...should I be concerned?

My son decided to build a homemade incubator for his science fair project...so for 21 days we have been candeling periodically and here we are on day 21 with 8 eggs! What should we expect? I am SUPER nervous!
