It's totally fine. You're right wild chickens aren't too common around here. If by some chance a chicken does get loose It's quickly identified and the owner picks him or her up. This bird is just a plain mystery.
Well again it's only an assumption because she doesn't resemble any of the other birds around here. You could be right but honestly with no one coming forward to identify or claim her there's no way to know.
I bought several types of food since I was getting mixed responses from other people. I have chicken scratch, Layer Booster daily diet, this bag of cracked corn, dry mealworms.
I've been feeding her plenty of veggies and pellets to get her weight up. She also has free run of the yard so she's constantly eating. I used to have an earwig problem...USED TO.
No eggs. She's more preoccupied with eating and sunbathing. Also she was severely underweight and beaten up when I originally found her. I don't think she's even in condition to lay?
Well this particular chicken has been loose in our neighborhood for 3 months.
Well I've officially adopted her. She's the sweetest girl. Only problem is I know nothing about her.
Would anyone be able to take a guess on what breed she is? Also a longshot but am age? I know some have...
