Our LOCAL feedstores HERE in Gallup, New Mexico get their inventory of "day-old chicks" from Privett Hatchery in Portales, New Mexico. I have bought chicks from 2 different feedstores HERE ( both supplied by Privett Hatchery ).
ALL of the chicks that I have purchased in this manner have been...

Reminds me of an ole story 'bout a Farmer that used his shotgun to kill the 3rd NEW YOUNG Rooster that he had bought to replace his OLD (crafty) rooster.
I WON'T tell the story HERE...because it is not "Politically Acceptable"....(hogwash)....
But, it is a FUNNY story!

MAYBE it's like "Tennessee Whiskey"....some of it...MIGHT be GOOD WHISKEY.
But out here in New Mexico, our horses are "runners".......NOT "Tennessee Walkers" !
(Do them "Walkin' Horses" have feathered legs? Is that what slows them down?)
Ha-Ha !!!

Taylor,
I suggest that you go back to your "Grammar School" geography and history books! The State of New Mexico is NOT Mexico.
New Mexico has been a State since 1912 and was a U.S. Territory for a good LONG while prior to that.
Privett Hatchery is in the City of Portales, in the U.S...
I've never ordered directly from Privett...but the local feed stores buy from them....and I have bought twice from 2 different feed stores.
I was satisfied with my purchases BOTH times.
