Side question...the top roost bar...is is it a foot or more away from the wall? If not you will want to move it and make sure both roost bars are at least a foot away from each other too.

Looks like this side is protected from rain by being under the house. I'd cut this WHOLE section out and cover it with 1/2 inch hardware cloth.
