    First time! Hello! :D

Stop looking! Lol I have no room to talk I used needing to add water as an excuse to candle the EE eggs lol. Hold off until day 7 and you will be amazed! I think there was just a yolk floating around in the cracked egg but I don't want to eggtospy it and kill it.

    First time! Hello! :D

Ok I couldn't help it! My hubs has a really bright LED flashlight. He wasn't home with it when we candled last time and we sort of had a hard time seeing the EE babies since the shells are green. With this flashlight we could see the air cells really good. We saw 4 or 5 babies moving around in...

    First time! Hello! :D

I found that I can see the air cell the best if I have it sort of on its side but with the air cell part almost on the light. Does that make sense? We saw the babies the best with the egg on its side and sort of rolled it until we saw veining and the chick. Pointy end didn't really show us...

    First time! Hello! :D

How many days is that? Those are some really really good veins! My pictures would not take good...they were all blurry. I want so many breeds, but I would rather hatch them out myself, makes them more special I think, even if I bought the eggs lol. I want some marans, I want those dark eggs...

    First time! Hello! :D

I have access to all the duck and turkey eggs I want come spring. I am excited to try out something other than chicken eggs next. I am going to figure out this incubating thing so I can hatch the eggs that I really want chicks of and make my own crosses later on down the road lol.

    First time! Hello! :D

This is my first hatch and my first time candling, but I would think yes that is a chick developing. http://lancaster.unl.edu/4h/embryology/candlingphotos.shtml I found this site very interesting. Day 2 is probably a tad early to check things out, but day 7 should show you something...

    First time! Hello! :D

I candled my eggs! It looks like I have 7 for sure good growing eggs. We even got to see movement and eyes on a few of them. The kids were really excited. I had 1 that had a blood ring for sure and we opened it up and sure enough there was a blood ring all the way around and the yolk was all...

    First time! Hello! :D

I will let ya know. Also I got my hygrometer at homedepot. It seems to work very well and it's only $10. Walmart had some too. I also ordered this one It seems to read very accurate with my HD one. I'm glad I got them both since the LG humidity doesn't read well unless it's between 50-60%...

    First time! Hello! :D

I am on my first hatch with the exact same incubator. Do you have other thermometers in there? I have 2 other digital thermometers in there that agree on temp and humidity but my LG is set at like 97.7 to keep the other two around 100. The LG aren't the best and everything I've read says not to...
