Well it's official, 16 live chicks. One died this afternoon, I think the others took it out and I had to 'dispatch' the crippled little guy but my other problem chick is doing great and thriving now it would appear.
Good luck babigyrl22, hope you have some by now.
Love that she had those...
What a couple of days, here are a few pictures!
One on the left is my evil brat that picks on everyone and causes all the trouble, there is always one of those...she was hatched second and is that Red Sussex/Blue Cochin X I was talking about earlier...another one hatched and it is grey right...
Morning guys, just wanted to check in!
I haven't gotten to read what's going on with everyone so will do when I get a chance and get back to you with an update on my end and some baby pictures. I have 3 that are presently 'iffy', so I am nurse-maiding them and hoping all will well, other than...
It's like a bowling alley in there! I may have to try the cupcake deal too, but not sure it would stop these maniacs!
I have 13! One of the eggs I didn't think would hatch but stuck in there anyway hatched this AM, so I won't be trusting my opinions much anymore, I do have one that has died...
It's a fatty! haha.
It is out of my little Red Sussex X hen and my Blue Cochin Roo, Big Daddy, I grabbed a couple last day to fill the incubator! It has Daddy's fuzzy legs and it's dark, I wonder what colour it will be - maybe PURPLE, haha!
GOT ONE!
From out of nowhere, actually up in the corner of the incubator, little buddy came out of nowhere with not even a pip, and he pipped and zipped in about 35 minutes and is making all kinds of noise!
It's a Red Sussex/Ameraucana X, you can TOTALLY tell which rooster is the Daddy of this...
Lorrie77
LadyBirdsPalace - Thanks, I was so excited and nervous, I hope that lessens after the first hatch
My humidity took a 7 degree drop during the hatching process and I was so unsure if I should open
the incubator to add water. I decided it was best not too and everything turned out just...
You're NESTING instar8!
I WOKE UP TO 5 PIPS! One is quite big, the others are barely there but my eagle eyes found them! Still hearing lots of peeping from in there but when I woke up this AM, my humidy had dropped approx. 10% so I had a miny panic attack!
Congrats Lorrie77!
Sorry to...
I have about 20 hatched so far! 2 more I can see that are pipped, and 3 others I can't see if they have pips. I will try and take pics in the morning! Unfortunately, I see a few with single combs...darn!
Did you still have 36 at lockdown? 20 is pretty darn good. Single combs huh, were they...
Right on! Cute babies!!!
All is QUIET here, I could have swore I had heard some commotion in there on Day 19 last time, but I did have one early pipper that didn't make it and I had ducks that hatched one day early so that's probably why - all my chicks started Day 21 and a few stragglers on...
Oh right on! Everyone that gets some babes tonight be sure to post some pics in the AM!

Yikes, I have a pip. This Tuesday would be 21 days so this makes them only 19 days. Should I worry?
I also see two other eggs moving and hear chirps coming from the bator.
Not sure...
