I'm sorry, I'm not here for an argument. I did not mean to upset you, but I would not give someone a reccomendation without telling them the risks. People have been injured and it would be irresponsible of me to not tell the OP the risks that the fencing may impose. Thank you for trying to keep...
I'm sorry you got that idea. There have been very few events where children were mildly shocked, and one or two where a child was seriously injured. One of which was when a child was standing in a puddle and touched extremely high voltage fencing meant to keep out mountain lions. I just...
Good for you! Hope the netting helps. Do you have small children? Be careful letting them around the electric fencing, deaths have occurred in very young children. Good luck!
I don't know about turkeys, but maybe they would work. What about guineas? As long as you can take the noise, smell, obvious stupidity, they are not much smarter than the bugs they snarf down all day, but with a head that small, what can you expect?
Great Pyrenees are good livestock dogs. Donkeys, llamas, and alpacas are also quite helpful. Maybe your goats should be in a separate area, safe from the electric fencing.
I'm sorry I posted before I saw your post madam poofy brow, I completely agree. In my experience electric fencing and some good livestock protecters are invaluable...
Well to each his own. I guess some people don't mind doing it that way, but if I had to kill I would try my best to do it as humanely as possible...that said, I don't think anyone is wrong with their opinions, just that mine are different. I also would like to add that the OP hasn't been on this...
Maybe you should try a snare, it will be very easy and much more humane. Just bait with a chicken carcass, cat food, or dog food. You can easily rig one up, and it is inexpensive and humane, as well as an easy way to capture. Good luck!
There is a wrong way...inhumanly. It is just my opinion, but I would NEVER do anything like that. KGreene, why don't you just set up electric poultry netting? You can also lure the coyote over and shoot it, or even try a humane trap...
Coyote fishing? That sounds inhumane...I'd much rather be killed outright with a bullet or even trapped then killed than to be impaled with an object and left stuck there, bleeding and in excruciating pain. If you are going to kill OP please do it humanely.
I prefer wolves over coyotes any day, if people weren't so ignorant killing wolves with no basis, than the coyote population would stay at a good level. So save the wolves, but in the mean time, keep your animals safe. The reason a coyote would even come near a person is simple, they have lost...
I would never eliminate when I can prevent, but that's just me. Anyway, with electric fencing up, the OP wouldn't have to compete with the yotes, so no reason to kill.
I think that coyotes are just trying to survive. I don't hate them, just hate when they get my animals. Electric netting is a great solution where everybody gets to keep their own skin! Good luck!
If you are looking for a pet for your son to ride, you shouldn't get a donkey. In my experience, they are ornery, kick, and DO NOT appreciate anyone on their backs, and these donkeys were trained to be ridden! I would not take any risks around kids, especially young ones. Of course, donkeys are...
