    Intestinal bacteria

Just wanted to make sure you didn't think I was annoyed with you. I appreciate that you offered a suggestion and I have added the b complex. I have pills, so I think I'll pause until she's beyond the pin feather stage, so I don't hurt her trying to get pills done her gullet. I thought she was...

    Intestinal bacteria

Gram positive cocci is not coccidiosis, which is why we do’t abbreviate coccidiosis as “cocci” anymore. Coccidia is a protozoan parasite. Gram positive cocci could be a staph or strep bacteria, or other coccus. Gram negative cocci examples would be Neiseria gonorrhea, N. meningitidis, H...

And to clarify...Joey's "vigor" is fine. Only thing that's off is her poo. Although, now she's miserable, because she's COVERED in pin feathers. Poor thing. I guess, I'll order the "gut soothe", do a b complex and if that doesn't work, look more closely at what's present in her gut.

I don't believe their coccidia, as young ones, was that bad. There was never blood or any stool weirdness. I treated the minute they said they didn't feel well (puffed up and pouty) and they improved within 12 hours.

No. You're not being stupid! I don't know. I'd need to do another test. "Gram positive cocci" is how it's listed on the report.

    Intestinal bacteria

That's why we did that last round of anti biotics because we thought, maybe, she was getting reinfected. That was about 3 months after the second round, I think. But, since it's super cold, now.... I just feel like I've tried everything. Haven't done a test for the specific bacteria, yet. All I...

    Intestinal bacteria

I started off with vitamins and probiotics and when then didn't work I did the gram stain. For the cocci(or whatever we're calling it now), yes, I did corrid because I didn't want to mess around. The first round of ABs, I can't remember. The last 2 we did metronidazole because it's "supposed" to...

    Intestinal bacteria

I wasn't going to allow a bacterial overgrowth, that was damaging her intestines run rampant when I had tried other options. I don't like antibiotics, but sometimes they are necessary and I understand the, potential, consequences. I'm going to try what was mentioned and, hopefully, it will help.

    Intestinal bacteria

Yes, I believe they had cocci when young, I think they were around 2 months and I did treat. When I say "I believe", they had something, I treated with corrid, it went away. I only have 4 birds and huge amounts of space. The only other bird having a bit of a issue is the old lady. She's 9.5...

    Intestinal bacteria

So, I'm kinda at my wit's end. I have a 1 year old. She's had 3 rounds of prescription anti biotics and she eats fermented food. Her bacterial over growth has come back again pretty shortly after the last round of anti biotics. Not sure if she getting reinfected or I'm not getting it all. I've...
