Limping Chick - end Corid early to give Chick Boost?

She's really cute, I hope she recovers! Yes, my SF started improving after I separated her for about a day, took her (and everyone else) off of Corid and gave her water with a double dose of Chick Boost for a couple days, and then regular strength for a week or two.

Limping Chick - end Corid early to give Chick Boost?

Thank you! I'll put them on regular water and get a bag of nonmedicated feed today. I have already been putting clumps of grass and soil in there, so good to hear I'm on the right track! My coop isn't new at all, but we haven't had chickens for years so hopefully that's alright. Thank you for...

Limping Chick - end Corid early to give Chick Boost?

Another update and a question.... My little SF is doing great! No trace of a limp at all 😄 They have all been getting water with Chick Boost for two weeks now, and I was wondering, should I keep giving it to them until I run out or should I stop now? Is there any harm in keeping them on it...

Limping Chick - end Corid early to give Chick Boost?

Thank you @Lady of McCamley and @Eggcessive for your help last week! I wanted to give an update on my SF chick. I kept her and another small chick in a separate brooder overnight, took everyone off of Corid and put them all on Chick Boost. I put the SF and the other little chick back with the...

Limping Chick - end Corid early to give Chick Boost?

Thank you for saying that. It's hard not to feel 100% responsible for their health and wellbeing, so it's a good reminder that sometimes it's out of my control. She took some big gulps of the Chick Boost water, so fingers crossed she looses that limp ☺️

It's left foot seems to be the one bothering it, so the one closest to the camera.

Limping Chick - end Corid early to give Chick Boost?

Thanks for you response. It's totally possible that the chick that passed away didn't have coccidiosis. When I noticed the chick was sick, I became pretty frantic and jut tried to jump into action, I assumed it was coccidiosis because of the symptoms and that seemed like the most common illness...

Limping Chick - end Corid early to give Chick Boost?

I didn't have the chick who died tested for coccidiosis, and to be honest, I was pretty frantic when I noticed that the chick was sick on Monday so I kind of jumped to the conclusion that it had coccidiosis. It was very lethargic, droopy wings, mucus-y poop/diarrhea, wasn't eating or drinking...

Limping Chick - end Corid early to give Chick Boost?

I have 9 chicks, a mix of probably 2-3 weeks old now, and all different breeds. The bird in question right now is a Salmon Favorelle - she's one of my smaller chicks, but her wings and tail feathers are farther along than the other chicks her size. She is limping, still able to get around and...
