Just wanted to pop on here and say that after a year, my two chicken coops (one from CCOnly and the other from Hayneedle) are holding up nicely after the winter we had here in upstate NY. No broken pieces, haven't had to fix or alter anything yet. I have 4 bigger birds in one coop and 3 silkies...

Well Ok lets see here...last time I posted I had 4 and one coop. However I ran into a little trouble when one of lavender orpingtons matured into a rooster! I was worried about him injuring my only silkie hen if he tried mating with her. And I at that time I only had 1 silkie. Sooooo....I really...
Thats what people keep telling me but I'll tell ya, I got my first 3 back on Easter weekend. added two to the flock a couple of weeks later and that is all I've had since. I have thought about adding more, but I would need to expand the coop. Plus I think my husband would have a fit! LOL I'm...
Bobby I have to agree with you there for sure! I am not handy when it comes to building things. This was the best thing I could find for the price. I was not about to spend $500+ on a coop. As a matter of fact, I'm getting two bunnies this week for my kids. I searched all over for a decent...
It's a pretty big shed, but I am not ready for something that large. I think I'm going to be the first on this forum that says Chicken Math will not get the best of me - and actually mean it! LOL I decided last night I am still going with this coop and in the winter/snowy months I'm going to...
OMG, I didn't even THINK of that! - The snow! It will definitely come up past the top of the coup if we get a bad winter. However, we do have a shed in the yard that is completely empty and if worse comes to worse we can always move that part of the coup indoors into the shed. UGH, back to...
Oh no , I didn't mean I would go out and get 12 bantams. I dont plan on raising more than 5-6 at the MOST! I still think I will stick to the 2 silkies and maybe 2 of another small breed and thats it. I just liked the idea that it said it could hold 12, so I know at least my 4 should be...
Thanks for the input. I'm glad I ordered it without paying until shipped out end of April. I contacted a few people who build them to see if they have anything in my price range. Thanks again.
I'm going to order this one I found online. I really like it and like the fact that it holds up to 12 bantams (even though we plan on keeping no more than 6). I like the extra room they'll have.
This was definitely Free Shipping - I wouldn't pay to ship - especially if they were to charge $100+ ! I think I'll just go to Tractor Supply and then if I need to alter that one a bit I will.
I have been looking on CL and all I've come acros are ads for custom built ones starting at $450 and up. Which is fine, but I did come across one on EBay going for $265 that serves the same purpose. I plan on staying small with this hobby so I don't need anything extravagant but also don't want...
I've been skimming the forum for chicken coops, it seems a lot of people make their own. I'm curious as to how many people on here have bought their coops or ordered online and are happy with them. I'm looking to do this as a small hobby and plan to stay small - no more than 5-6 chickens. So I'm...
