Soft skin so do touch. As far as caruncles on their faces you’ll have to ask God he made them that way. Must have just wanted something different looking when he was creating ducks! I like the look others think they are ugly. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Bottom pic they are younsters if you look close you can still see Peg is feathering in. They won't start getting caruncles until around 6 months. I don't understand your question what tact and why they get out? explain please.

Yes you can touch his face it’s very soft.

This duckling will not even resemble the colors we see now once feathered in it's amazing. Sure hope @SrPato lets us follow along.
