I feed mine the same as you, but try giving him some plain yogurt if it's a gut issue maybe that will help clear it up.. I usually give my chickens yogurt once a week... Mine get meal worms everyday, not much going on here for them to forage for right now.

sounds like he might have some of kind of vitamin diffiency, what all do you feed him?
