    Beaks certainly do grow longer with time (that's how chickens can have overgrown beaks--especially common in chickens with crossbeak, but can happen to other chickens too.) They grow from the base, and usually wear away at the tip. Given that mechanism, why are you sure a beak cannot grow back?

    Beaks grow from the base, so there is a chance of it growing back with time. Of course it will be sore for a while as it works on healing the end and regrowing the hard outer layer. It may or may not ever grow all the way back properly. Wet food that is nice and soft will be more comfortable...
