    yes ..a heavy molt is quite dramatic. There are also light molts and everything in between. The show bird food really helped with the plumage regrowth. They were also laying huge eggs for awhile! I only give them a tablespoon of the show bird food once in awhile till one molts again!

    It is hard to tell! Before I realized she was molting ...I bathed her in the kitchen sink and sprayed her with Poultry Protector....then changed all the coop bedding and dusted with 7 before replacing the bedding. using half Koop Clean and half straw. ....Even if she is bug free....it sure can't...

    Turned out she was molting .! I am feeding the whole flock show bird feed and lots of worms and Boss . Her feathers are growing back now, but she still has a bare place on her poor little behind.! A few weeks to go and hopeful,she will be completely feathered. At least she has some feathers...

    My BR is going through heavy molting and her poor little butt is nearly bald. I will try to post a pic soon. My SS is lightly molting and still laying an egg every 3 days or so. My Buff Orp is fine and lays about 2 eggs per week because of light reduction in the winter. The Ameraucana finished...
