Thanks for the well-wishes but there's been no sign of life since 2am... I'll give it til 6am and then crack it open. When I did the egg run to the coop today I happen to have a broody australorp, and I found a new wyandotte egg. I stuck it under the australorp. I figure she'll do a better job...

I'm getting less optimistic. It was really active yesterday and there hasn't been any sound or movement today. The cooler is about 2 feet wide. I guess I wouldn't recommend this... i couldn't control the temperature reliably enough.

well I am afraid we might not have made it. The temperature has been pretty stable until now. It was over 40 (104-105F) early this morning when I checked on the egg and there is no movement or sounds from it. There really is no way to know if it's dead aside from waiting I suppose, but how long...
