WTH?! I just went to check on them, and what are they doing? EATING THE PAPER TOWEL!!!! What the heck is up with that? I had no choice but to switch them to a small towel...and that's exactlly what my parents don't want me doing. About 1/4 of the paper towel was ripped apart....now their crops...
I'm pretty sure my feed is good, I bought it 2 weeks ago and it smells fine. I turned the fan off and the chicks are eating their food again. Hopefully they won't eat shavings when I switch back in the next few days.
Actually I didn't start with shavings, I kept them on shredded paper for the first 5 days. They showed no interest in that, then I switched to the shavings for a day. They did eat a little, but not alot. I switched to layers of paper towel and after 2 days finally switched back to wood shavings...
Last week my chicks have been well behaved, for chickens at least. But the past 2 days they've gone on a food strike. Instead of eating their chick starter they eat ONLY pine shavings. What's with that? They had completely ignored it...not single peck. Are they really that stupid? What makes...
