Got the fourth egg today! It's only Runty that's laying right now, but another RIR is doing the "egg squat". Hopefully Runty will learn to lay everyday, she is a production red anyways. These eggs are so small! (To me at least!)
I only have 5, that's how many I can fit in my small yard. 3 RIRs and 2 EEs. The EEs aren't laying just yet, and I don't expect them to for maybe a month or so. One of them is white/buff colored and has slate colored legs. I have a feeling she might be a blue layer, but I can't be certain.
Not what I expected, but it's not Nugget, the largest, who's laying. It's Runt Runt! The smallest! No wonder the eggs are bantam sized. She was freaking out earlier so I locked her up in the kennel, she calmed down and eventually went into the hide. Next thing I knew, she was throwing pine...
Thanks guys, I can't stop looking outside and seeing if anyone is inside the hide. I can't wait!!!! I've been feeding them quite a bit today, BOSS, greens, wet chicken feed, and I even fed them soome brown rice and a decent chunk of pompano. Spoiled chickens huh? LOL.

About the laying question, it depends on the breed. The egg above was laid by a production red or hatchery RIR, which were bred more for egg production and less meat. So they typically lay earlier. I don't expect my other 2 Easter Eggers to lay for a month or two, they typically mature...
They grow up so quickly! I got mine on the 22nd of Feburary and was annoyed at how slow they were growing. Now I want them to stop growing! I put some pine shavings in their little hide along with a blown store bought brown egg. They're looking at the nest puzzeled right now. Should I expect the...
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! It finally happened! About 2-3 weeks ago I got my first egg song from my largest and most mature pullet, Nugget. I expected an egg within a few days, but nothing, so I told myself to forget about it and wait a while. 2 weeks later I went to the beach for vacation and had to...
