I know several people on here who have raised colored chicks and they live normal lives, they just have colored feathers until all their baby down is gone. I doubt it harms them in any way other than enticing people to buy them who really don't know how to care for them.

I'm confused by that statement. Why do you say they don't live very long?

It's actually illegal in some areas to sell dyed chicks for exactly the reason mentioned above. I don't think there is anything inherently harmful about the process, but it is a shame that people will buy them thinking that they are a novelty when they have no idea how to actually raise and...
