    This part worries me. From what I've seen with mine I don't think she's pulling feathers off the head. This is how a bully attacks a weaker chicken, they peck at the head because they can seriously injure or kill them this way. I had a 2 week old chick kill its sibling by pecking at the head...

    Chicken TV can be better than anything on cable antenna, or satellite. That doesn't mean it is always, cute, sweet, and cuddly. Chicken society can be pretty brutal. I'll admit this one surprised me though. Usually I see them sharing a nest.

    I don't think the number of nests is your problem. I once saw a mature hen grab a pullet that was laying an egg by the head and jerk her off the nest so she could lay in that nest. There were empty nests around. I often see three hens in the same nest laying at the same time with empty nests...
