And why would you do that? The Red Sussex is in the AMERICAN standard and if you ever hope to show, then you need to go by the AMERICAN standard. But if you were to go by a different standard than that, then go by the English standards, and not the Austrailian ones. Once again, the breeder...
I would try an outcross to a buff sussex first. But I will say watch the weight and size of the sussex. Most of these 'imported' lines are way too big. The Standard calls for the male to only weigh 9 pounds and the hen 7 pounds. And when you breed for type, in my opinion try to go by the APA...
