    I wasn’t entirely sure what that was.... I didn’t even think of the yolk sac since the navel looked nicely healed. Unfortunately I can’t dissect it now as I’ve already disposed of it . I wonder what would cause that...

    It didn’t have access to anything else to eat other than chick crumbles or the soaked, runny chick crumbles I tried to no avail. I did do a necropsy, though I’m definitely a novice in that respect. Lots more ‘twists’ and knots in the digestive tract than I’ve seen in any other chicken, spots...

    A few minutes before it died, it passed a significant stream of diarrhea which contained little pieces of what almost appeared like charcoal when squished/rubbed with a Kleenex.

    Oh I know... out of this hatch of 25, I ended up with 2 oddballs. Both pink skinned, paint showgirls. The first one passed before it even made it out of the incubator... I was just really hopeful for this little one. There was evidently something amiss from the get go for them.

    Tried orally giving him a drop... evidently it was too late. Within a matter of minutes he passed away. Hate to do it, but I think I’m going to have to find out was that mass was..

    I’ve used olive oil (don’t have any coconut oil ) on his vent, but maybe I’ll try to get a little down him orally then. Worth a shot I suppose. Thanks :)
