@Amped I used Blackjack 57 on my coop floor and 12" up the wall. Just carried on and did the drop boards as well. Too expensive to buy for just that but suggest that anything that seals the wood is a good idea. Either varnish or epoxy should work just fine.

I have to travel to get PDZ, 2+ hours each way so better part of a day round trip. I buy in bulk - last trip (2 weeks ago) I bought 16 bags @ $14.99 to do it once-a-year. You two and this thread are twisting the knife.
