Pullet or cockerel? (updated current pics)

I edited it to add a little more. Whatever you decide, she seems very happy and healthy and is still one of the cutest little things I’ve seen and I’m JEALOUS. I’d love to steal her away for myself. :D:love

Pullet or cockerel? (updated current pics)

Any breed of chicken should fine. I recommend getting female friends in a similar age range (5-8 weeks, give or take.) You could even just get her ONE little pullet friend. Plenty of people raise just two little birds. Two makes a happy pair. If you do get another little baby/babies any time...

Pullet or cockerel? (updated current pics)

Yeah! Anytime. I’m pretty confident it’s a female. But we’d love updates as she grows! Silkie mixes are so pretty.

Chances are it’ll grow out anyways, like my girl’s did.

Pullet or cockerel? (updated current pics)

Okay, yup, that’s a girl. Her comb is tiny, her pattern is female-specific, and the smudge of black chest feathers means nothing. Many pullets get that. One of mine did.

Pullet or cockerel? (updated current pics)

Okay I’m sorry to keep badgering you, but is there any way you could get a pic of its whole front, straight-on, from head to toe? Kinda like this? I really just can’t figure out that chest feather development. That’s the last ask, I promise. 😂😅

No problem! I read through your other thread, it’s awesome that you rescued this cutie. My current vote is female.

Pullet or cockerel? (updated current pics)

We can’t tell how large the comb is, because the crest obscures it. And is there any chance you could get a full pic of the chest feathers? If those are solid black feathers coming in, that’s a concern.

Nah, those aren’t boy feathers. That pattern looks female. Can you part the feathers around the comb and get a pic, Kody?
