Wow,
Its been only 5 months since my post to venture out into "QUAILS & PHEASANTS" and look @ my collection now.
Pretty cool how things grow so fast : )

PS: Thanks everyone!!!
Good morning!
Yeah, that would work. A normal sized hen is too large and will most likely break some eggs. Haha. A normal sized hen could raise like 40 chicks at once or something since they are so small. Haha
Anyhow, this is one of the response I got from an eBay seller...
Kim,
Thanks for the info. I will do that! : )
Yeah...they can lie but like you mentioned...it won't hurt to ask.
Imma be up all night...hopefully, to catch the racoon that my dad just ran outside to chase away. Literally 30 mins ago. I just came back in and there it was again! Outside the...
Oh...
I forgot to add...there is something funny I thought about the conversation that I would like to share. He actually told me "The eggs 'communicate' when their mom sits on them after all the eggs are laid so that they know who will hatch out first and all will establish the pecking order...
Yeah...
Its pretty lame that this is the only Bobwhite breeder in San Diego. He is monopolizing it!
He told me..."This is my hobby"...yet...as I ask him more to "reveal" his real purpose, I got him to tell me the he has a hatchery up in his $$$ (bling-bling) house with like 700 eggs being...
Thanks for all the info everyone.
Got back from his place about 2 hours ago. Its a nice place...like a $4 million dollar home up in the hills (explains the high cost) versus broke college bird lovers like me. Haha
Anyhow, I thought his "breeding" cages are better. Its actually a 15feet by 15...
Haha
Yeah! Tell me about it. Lol. But what can I do? Oh well...I guess its gonna be a monopoly down here in San Diego then for that seller is I want Bobwhites now. I don't want to spend 24 days hatching the eggs, 60 days brooding them before puting them outside safely and sell the ones I don't...
Thanks for the tips again everyone.
I know, again, I called the seller to see what he thinks of $25 a trio and he was REALLY rude! I don't believe it. Trying to rip people off in San Diego or something. This guy must be those breeders...I don't like that...
ANYWAYS! Moving on...I have a friend...

Thanks for the tips...
I know, I was thinking a trio of the Bobwhite would be $25 or $30 tops but I just contacted a local breeder today and he wanted $75. Insane! The 2 month old chicks he wants $7...WOW! Haha
Yeah, if thats the case, I would rather spend $20 on 40 eggs and sell the...
Hello...
Are the ones recommended noisy? I have read that they are very protective so its not possible to house different breeds together but the Bobwhite should be more mellow and less noisy...if they even are at all.
Ultimately, I want a breed with a good call that will be able to rear...
Great suggestion.
So...can I do a pair of Bobwhite and a pair of the Cot-to something? Haha
I am not into eggs or eatting...non of what I raise are for that purpose. I want something rare, fun, and cool to have : )
