Indeed, my list goes roughly
2 Faverolles pullets
2 BLR Wyandotte pullets
1 or two breeder quality JGs, either black or blue pullets
Maybe 1 more JG cockerel of breeder quality
1 Buff Brahma cockerel
3-4 Buff Brahma pullets
4 buff or black bantam Silkies
Lol good thing I now officially have it...
From what I gathered, they can be somewhat challenging with BLRs due to blue being recessive vs the standard gold or silver Wyandottes and can lead to some poor lacing if not from refined heritage. BLR is apparently tough to get "right" as no SOP exists for it so lacing and colors can vary widely.
So even with Lola's thin lacing it should still remain pretty sizeable as with Gunner's??? This is indeed encouraging! As long as the chicks maintained his darker red and her lavender look lacing, they would be some stunning offspring.
I have that chart saved lol. It explains colors but I am also keen to see if the lacing of Gunner is maintained while being made slightly lighter to highlight it more.
Well, I am hoping to get Buff Brahma pullets and a cockerel and try crossing with my BJGs and see what results and refine for size from there. Also, do have a question... This is Lola, my BLR Wyandotte hen who has less than ideal lacing, body size and color. I love her self blue though, it is...
