I think we settled on Green Heron

The one with the frog in its beak is a blue heron. I can’t remember what the other one is.

@Pyxis identified it for me, maybe she remembers. I forgot :oops: ETA we were trolling down the lake. It was running along beside us. It would stand and grab a small fish, then when we could get up alongside it, it would fly ahead a few feet and watch the water again. Was cool to observe.

My hubby and I fish a few lakes, and see lots of different shore birds. This was one of my favorites this past summer.

I knew that! Duh moment. Good catch though. :D

Very cool Kathy! We get them around the lakes here. All kinds of different herons and egrets. I had one egret visit my pond. Hung around all day eating frogs. :P
