Oh my. We had a hen with a similar, but WAY worse injury years ago before I joined BYC. Her whole back end had been split open leaving her intestines exposed. She survived for 3 days, but we put her down after that. Point being, as inexperienced as we were at the time there might be hope for...- Weeg
