    Good to know, thank you.

    Cuckoo Marans?

Do they typically have the brown during molt? That's what threw me off. I've never had a Cuckoo as barring is not a gene I favor.

    Cuckoo Marans?

I have no information on her parents and for all I know, they were mixed as well. Just trying to guess what genetics she might have based on her color. I'm hoping her egg color will narrow it down a smidge.

    Cuckoo Marans?

    Cuckoo Marans?

    Cuckoo Marans?

Works for me. I have the stock to make olive Eggers and just haven't gotten with the program yet. I'm excited to see what she looks like when she's done molting.

    Cuckoo Marans?

Definitely not dirt. She wouldn't be dirty for over a month especially not while molting. I'll see if I can find a feather from her.

    Cuckoo Marans?

The American standard for marans is to be clean legged. No eggs yet, she isn't old enough. She may be after this molt but it will be winter. Do barred rocks have more brown?

    Cuckoo Marans?

This gal was given to me as a BCM... She is molting but barring seems evident though very splotchy. She also isn't black and white. She's sort of light brown on dark brown. Maybe she's an olive egger?
