    Is she getting picked on outside? If she's not, then personally I would not cage her outside. I would let her go where she wants and interact with the flock. If you think she's been kept from food, then add another station or two. I'm not a fan of caging or removing a bird from the flock...

    I have portions of my run that are uncovered. Yes, the straw will get mucky and muddy and will need to be managed, but the straw does offer a bit of protection from the mud and snow.
