It can sometimes be an indicator but not at all a 100% method I’m afraid. I’ve had more than a few catch me out doing it like that!

Could you get a pic of the tail please? Chocolate does not look too big on the wattles but 8 weeks can some times be a tad early to tell for sure. Are the 3 birds in front 8 weeks also?

They often do look different between the silver lace and other colours. I've found when I've hatched silver lace out they have looked a bit..... not quite sure how to describe it but....... more slender? Not as round a crest? Not as much of a crest? As you can see in the pics below the silver...

Dust!! I use a vacuum for that. I have an old one that I use to vac my coops and brooding shed out with. The vac does not spread it like sweeping ;) Hope you are able to get some polish Banti, they are super cool birds :love I think you would love them!!

:gig I'm OCD with things like that!! I'm the same with the horse and I have a sweeping obsession!! I like cleaning coops out and the like, it's just nice to see them tidy. Yes I'm weird :hide If I were closer I would happily clean it up for you :D Its the satisfaction after its done that's good.

Love those glasses! :cool: Very nice :D I have a couple of gold lace with white in their crest, seems to be a blip in their colouring rather than being a Tolbunt. My Tolbunt chicks are a totally different colour to how my gold lace hatched. Sorry to hear about the fire, how devastating :hugs...
