Vinegar will kill the foliage, but not the plant(like RU does). In order to keep killing the foliage you might use enough vinegar the change the soil ph for a very long time.....salt would be even worse for the soil. Oh, maybe I've given too much credit to 'salting the earth'.

Did ya get a tester to make sure it stays hot?
