    All that will do is recirculate the air in the coop, blowing hot and ammonia laden air back down to the floor level, you need to change the air in the coop by bringing in fresh air from outside coop. Add it to your profile ;)

    Charcoal filters are for chemical/VOC absorption. If you want to filter out dust particles, that's a different filter. Either will clog quickly tho in a coop environment. Best to have fan blowing into coop late in day to cool things off.

    OK, so 18' of how big of a gap? Looks like the typical 2x4 rafters(3.5")..so would be 756sqin or 5.25 sqft. Unless they are 2x6 rafters(5.5")...then 1188sqin or 8.25sqft. If you want to compare to the commonly cited 1sqft per bird. Curious about your roof boards, why you used them instead of...

    What do you mean by linear feet? Ventilation is defined by square feet(so many feet long x so many feet high) of the opening. A window that is 3 feet long and 2 feet high equals 6 square feet.

    That's a very nice sheshed chicken coop...but it's sorely lacking in chicken amendments. Especially in the ventilation department. Large(~12") roof overhangs are the best thing for year round ventilation protection. protects open windows in summer and open soffits and gables in all year long...

    Wait, what...farmer or pet keeper?? Pics of coop, please. Would help to now what your goals are......like why all the males? Also how old are these birds, in weeks or months?
