Low impedance fencing won't kill, even if the animal gets caught in it - they could die from shock perhaps in the sense of stress (a heart attack potentially I suppose). Over the past 8 years of using low impendence Premier fencing, I've had a number of critters get themselves in a bind...
Not sure if you bought a fencing system yet, but we use Premier Fencing (we've tried Kencove and a few others but Premier is the best). We do not use it to contain poultry because that's a losing battle, plus hawks.
