    One way to find out is to breed them, if you have the mutation you can start to develope it. If you want black lacing breed back to black and take the blues breeding them back to black again till your happy with the lacing. Avoid using Splash as breeding stock, that will loose you your lacing.

Blue due to the lacing makes the bird seem darker on the head and neck where the feathers are smaller, closer and long/thin rather than round so the lacing takes up nearly the whole feather.     What we call Blue is really Black laced blue, and Lavender is 'true blue' or also called 'self blue'.

    I have Black, White, Blue (Black laced Blue) and Lavender now. Anyone want the trade secret in getting Lavender? It's easy, just read up on the genetics of Blue..... I'm such a tease! That Buff laced with White chould just be a Buff/White cross. I know of other sites featuring Gold Laced...
